A Grand Day

It was a grand day for a parade. The Town of Essex Park and Recreation Department would like to extend a thousand thanks to our local businesses and organizations that helped make the eighth Annual essex go Bragh Parade a huge success. We especially appreciate our local businesses and community groups that hosted our festival events such as Earth & Fire Art Studio, The Community Music School, and The Griswold Inn. Additional festival support was provided by the Park & Recreation Commission, Selectman’s Office, Department of Public Works, Essex Police Department, and Board of Trade.

Special thanks go to all our marchers and to our local community groups who organized their members to come march with us:

The Essex Veteran’s Color Guard; The Sailing Masters of 1812; our 2018 grand marshal, Mr. Alan Miller; The Essex Board of Trade; our elected officials; Essex girl and boy scout troops; Mulkerin School of Irish Dance; Essex Community Fund; Essex Elementary School Green Team; Homeward Bound Connecticut; Bike for Kids; the Valley Regional High School (VRHS) girls lacrosse team; the VRHS girls crew team; the Ivoryton Village Business Alliance; Bushy Hill Nature Center; the Essex Corinthian Yacht; the Essex Steam Train; the Essex Historical Society; Save a Tree; the Estuary Transit District; and Essex Ambulance Association.

And save the date: Next year’s parade will be on Saturday, March 16.
