Just What They Do

I consider myself beyond privileged to have known the D’Andrea family my entire life.

Frank, the founder of the D’Andrea Group, and his wife, Janis, were friends with my parents long before they were even married. I have fond memories of family gatherings and summertime pool parties, and the two of them were a constant, joyful presence. I also recall their pride and love in becoming parents themselves to Frank and then Nicole, who are now both fully involved in their tremendous company.

I preface my letter with that background because I think it sets the tone for my main purpose in writing: The D’Andrea Group gives so much not only to those within our community of Guilford but throughout the New Haven area and beyond. They truly are the most kind, generous people, offering help to our hospitals, Connecticut food banks, children’s sports leagues, Special Olympics, and Unified programs—the list never ends. They do it all because it is the right thing to do, to give back to the community that helped build their wonderful business. They also engage in less publicized, but just as significant, acts of kindness and giving, such as donating coffee and treats to the police officers, first responders, and schools during times of crisis as well as offering a beautiful raffle basket for my daughter’s Irish dance school to help fund trips to national and worlds competitions. This is just what they do, and I want to thank them publicly, from the bottom of my heart, for all that they do.

My thanks go to the D’Andreas for being the generous, beautiful people that they are! Guilford is certainly lucky to have them among us.
