Cupcakes and Community Support

I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who contributed to the wonderful success of this year’s Rotary Wine/Beer Tasting and Auction held at the Saybrook Point Inn on Feb. 9.

This year’s event was attended by more than 200 guests who enjoyed an evening of wine and beer tastings compliments of Paradise Wines & Spirits of Old Saybrook. Thanks go to Lighthouse Printing and the Saybrook Point Inn. Also, a big shout-out goes to the Old Saybrook High School culinary classes for their contribution of exceptional gourmet cupcakes.

No auction would be complete without the support of local businesses that continue to support our event through buying display advertisement and donating auction items. Thanks go to the attendees who bid generously for those items.

The Old Saybrook Rotary Club covers the towns of Old Saybrook, Old Lyme, and Westbrook. Established in 1927, the club has a long history of community service. The Old Saybrook Rotary Club sponsors Student of the Month, DARE programs, college scholarships, and various international programs. Through the club’s foundation, we are positioned to support town programs that assist those in need and to help make our community a better place to live, work, and play.

Old Saybrook Rotary Club meets weekly and we welcome active new members. Readers can learn more by visiting us at www.osrotary.org or by contacting Pat Settembrino at 860-388-6789 for more information about Rotary or becoming a member. Again, thanks go to all who helped and we hope to see them next year.
