Important, and Perhaps Dangerous

I want to express my sincere appreciation for the efforts of Clinton Zoning Enforcement Officer Eric Knapp and civil engineer Andrew Bevilacqua in clarifying some essential questions and concerns regarding the Shoreline Rail and Recycling (SRR) application to build a plant processing potentially hazardous waste here in Clinton, off Route 145.

Our community needs to consider potential flooding, toxic contamination, traffic flow, habitat loss, and long-term viability before we even entertain the possible merits of this application.

I hope that all Clinton voters will inform themselves about this matter, and that the public hearing of the Inland Wetlands Commission on Tuesday, March 6, at 7 p.m. in the Clinton Town Hall will be a forum for citizens who want more clarification about this important, and perhaps dangerous, public issue.
