02/21/2018 07:00 AMAs I write this letter in anticipation of the Planning & Zoning Commission vote on Wednesday, March 7 for the 55-and-older elderly housing up on Sperry Lane, I encourage all like myself to attend, and make our voices heard. We can use such a facility, which would in turn bring much-needed tax dollars and alleviate the burden of maintenance on single family houses that many of us tackle everyday.
Having recently retired, I would much rather spend my time enjoying my retirement rather than the day-to-day maintenance that comes with being a single-family-home owner.
We should encourage Mayor Joe Maturo to support us all and not opt out for more housing and services that will truly cripple us in the future years. Let’s all get behind this attractive project and be proud of East Haven.
