Runaway Spending Train

Budget season is fast approaching. I’m writing this letter to tell the voters of Clinton who is responsible for the relentless increases in Clinton taxes. It is not Republicans or Democrats. It is the voters in Clinton: the voters who failed to return to the ballots month after month to show their disapproval of these budgets, voters who were swayed by the manipulative statements of impending educational harm to our children and imminent library closure, and voters who accepted the nominal amounts taken off the budgets to placate them.

By coming back to the ballot box month after month, we can stop the runaway spending train in Clinton.

It is time for Clinton to look for other sources of revenue besides Clinton homeowners. Many towns and schools have reviewed their contracts and pension plans to rein in spending. Our huge white elephants are a testament to the lack of growth in our town. Lower taxes would encourage growth. Clinton must do that and more.

We are a high-taxed state and we have allowed Clinton to be a high-taxed town. What do each of us get for these high taxes anyway? It should be our job to return month after month until we get zero increase.
