Extravagantly Wasteful

I write to urge the Madison Board of Selectmen to forgo consideration of the measures currently being proposed for the town by the group Food & Water Watch (“Madison Residents Ask for Fracking Waste Ban,” Jan. 4). The Source article tells us, “Nearly 30 people, armed with petitions from other residents in town,” attended a recent meeting. Well they were “armed,” so I imagine the Board of Selectmen listened respectfully, as they should.

The article also states, “State law also mandates the Connecticut Department of Energy & Environmental Protection to submit regulations for review by next summer, July 1, 2018.” It would be extravagantly wasteful for the Town of Madison to spend any time at all on an issue that is going to be handled by a higher level, and soon.

I confess, have no expertise about fracking water, but I do know virtue-signalling when I see it.
