Thanks Are Due


Thanks are due to the many individuals, organizations, and businesses that made this year’s treelighting a success. Thanks go to Westbrook Drum Corps and Westbrook Historical Society for their open houses, Essex Savings Bank for sponsoring the Ray of Light wagon rides, and Westbrook Elks for sponsoring the ice sculpture.

The Treelighting Committee thanks the following businesses for decorations and goodies: Don Balint of Christmas Décor, Shop Rite, The Fish Tale, Grateful Deli, Westbrook Coffee House, and Westbrook Pizza. Other organizations and businesses also made significant contributions: Captain Stannard House, Envirotech, Lighthouse Signs, Riggio Garden Center, and Westbrook Ambulance, Energy Committee, High School Future Business Leaders, and Building and Sanitation, Emergency Management, Fire, Police, and Public Works departments.

Many individuals and organizations participated in the parade and performed on the Green including cub and boy scouts; brownie and girl scouts; First Selectman Noel Bishop and selectmen John Hall and Mary Labbadia; State Senator Art Linares; state representatives Devin Carney and Jesse MacLachlan; Reverend Jan Gregory-Charpentier; Jan Mazeau and the Congregational Church children’s choir; Connecticut Volkswagen Association; Jen Capano and friends (bonfire and s’mores!); ice sculptor Dan Medeiros; Lighthouse Church; Oxford Academy; Rita Trojanowski and Patty Linck; elves Gabriella Koplas, Jamie Sacco, and Sadie Susi; Bob Hale; Sunny Train; VISTA students, staff, and singer Brian Ruddy; Westbrook Dance Academy; Westbrook Garden Club; Westbrook High School Band and cheerleaders Kina Mama, and Travis Miller; Westbrook Junior Colonials; and Westbrook Drum Corps.

Finally, special thanks go to Barry Clark, Bill Cusson, Dave Welch, Dana Brainerd, Don Harger, Scoutmaster Doug Thomas, and the boy scouts for set up and break down; Committee Chairman Dennis Allen; and Randy and Ann Bell.
