Jingle Bell Fun

The organizers of the inaugural R4EF Jingle Bell Run held on Dec. 9 want to take this opportunity to thank all those who made this event the rousing success it was. In spite of the threatening snow storm, 137 hardy runners took to the 3.1-mile course in Deep River to raise funds for the Region 4 Education Foundation (R4EF). This foundation aids schools in the district with seed money and donations for programs and projects that don’t fall within the confines of the traditional education budget.

Volunteers from John Winthrop Middle School, R4EF, and Tri-Town Youth Services worked with Trooper Dawn Taylor and other emergency responders to ensure the safety and success of the run. It would not have been the success it was without the generous sponsorship of many local businesses and the support of the town of Deep River and Region 4 School system. The run organizers, including Kathryn Ryan and Donna Nelson, look forward to making this an annual event.
