The Important Contribution

On behalf of the Board of Directors of the Hyland House Museum, I would like to congratulate the Witness Stones Project and the social studies faculty and 8th-grade students at Adams Middle School. Their program on Nov. 2 was an inspiring event. It was gratifying to see so many members of our community come together to remember our town’s history and to consider how that history has shaped our lives today.

We would also like to thank them for expanding our knowledge about the Hyland House. The student-historians’ biography of Candace greatly enriched our understanding of her life.

We would like to recognize the contribution they have made to the scholarship of the Hyland House by naming the Elisabeth C. Adams Middle School Class of 2018 and the Witness Stones Project as benefactors of the museum. The project and the class will be recognized in perpetuity for the important contribution they have made to preserving and sharing Guilford’s Colonial history.
