Neighbor Helping Neighbor

Guilford Interfaith Volunteers would like to thank everyone who attended this year’s Patriotic Dinner and fundraiser for Guilford Meals on Wheels. The evening was a huge success with 47 veterans acknowledged and 160 people served a wonderful lasagna dinner. Many people volunteered their time to make the night successful, including Larry Santamaria and his staff Ian Porter, Lenzy Thomas, and Gail Velardi, who prepared the dinner; and the Pilgrim Fellowship teenagers who did a wonderful job serving the crowd. Many thanks to the North Guilford Congregational Men’s Choir for their beautiful music, to Guilford Parks & Recreation for the use of the Community Center, and to Terry Haskell for his help setting up and cleaning up.

Many community merchants and individuals were very generous with their donations of door prizes. As the holidays approach, we hope everyone will shop local and support our Guilford businesses. Thanks for gifts go to April Rose, Ballou’s Wine Bar, Bob Mansfield, Breakwater Books, Centro’s Pizza, Chroma Gallery, Details, Ella’s, Forte’s, Frank’s Package Store, Mix Design Store, Myra Cusano, ONYX, Page Hardware, Palumbo’s, Pasta Avest, Salon H, Strawberry Hollow Farm, The Spice & Tea Exchange, Village Chocolatier, and Village Greene Gardens.

We are proud to join with everyone who donated their goods or their time and everyone who attended to bring to life the GIV motto of “Neighbor Helping Neighbor.”
