Giving Thanks to Our EHFP Volunteers

There are a lot of moving parts that go on behind the scene so we can give our food pantry clients the best we have to offer. Every pantry volunteer goes above and beyond the call of duty, doing whatever is needed. No matter the request, the volunteers just do it without asking questions. Their only response is always “okay, let’s go.” The pantry is open two mornings a week, and on Saturday mornings, but our volunteers go in on off-shifts, making sure the shelves are stocked, and the bread is picked up. They also make Thanksgiving baskets, sort and stock the shelves when food drives are held, make bags for our back-pack program for qualifying local elementary school children, lend a hand with our fundraisers, shop for eggs and food when necessary, and do other tasks, all to make sure we are ready for our clients. The pantry is run strictly by volunteers, no one is paid to work, and they all take time out of their busy schedules and give a 100 percent. During this time of Thanksgiving, I want to say thank you to our food pantry volunteers for making our pantry so successful all year long.
