Why Destroy Our Heritage?

Why has Guilford Town Engineer Jim Portley singled out Nut Plains Road and State Street to construct a six-foot-wide concrete pathway? This pathway would require he blow up Ice Age glacial rock outcroppings, cut down beautiful shade trees, and destroy old stonewalls. The effect of this path on the many historic homes that line the roads would be devastating.

Why do we travel to Europe to look at their well-preserved historic sites then come home to America and destroy our heritage?

If your readers care, I encourage them to step up and speak out against this plan of destruction and say “No” to our town engineer and “No” to our selectmen—no Nut Plains Pathway!
