11/01/2017 08:00 AMThe purpose of this letter is to endorse Mr. Tony Cozza for the Board of Finance. Tony has been a great asset to the Board of Finance the past several years. He currently volunteers and serves on many boards and commissions for the Town of Westbrook. He has many years of experience in the power industry and has managed many multi-million-dollar projects and budgets. As a member of the Board of Finance Tony attends almost all of the Board of Selectmen meetings in order that he may gain a more in-depth knowledge of the issues that may come before the Board of Finance. Tony has brought a unique perspective to the Board of Finance.
Tony has been a strong advocate for giving our kids a quality education and as a member of the Board of Finance has given strong support to the Board of Education and its budgets. In his time on Westbrook’s Board of Finance, Tony has actively supported core goals of keeping taxes down, maintaining services, making sure our kids get a quality education, and keeping our debt under control all while properly managing our fund balance.
In summary, Tony works hard to keep the taxes low and questions all expenditures. He consistently questions and scrutinizes each department’s line items. He is sincere, honest, and trustworthy. I am proud to work with Tony. I consider him a friend of Westbrook. He always tries to do the right thing. Tony and his wife have been town residents for many years.
