Paying the Bills

I was pleased to see that Westbrook was not included in a recent Moody’s Investor Service report that 26 towns in Connecticut are being considered for a bond rating down grade and another 25 towns were assigned negative outlooks.

This tells me that under the leadership of First Selectman Noel Bishop, this town is spending our tax dollars in a prudent way, watching its expenses and paying the bills in a timely fashion.

I am also impressed by the town’s Public Works Department, headed by John Riggio, which with a small crew for the size of Westbrook, not only keeps the town clean and attractive, but works on the infrastructure and larger jobs that most town contract out. This austerity on his part saves us many tax dollars.

I thank all the Westbrook town employees.
