Higher Fiscal Restraint

It’s a great pleasure to support Jon Trotta for the Board of Finance. He is a family man, dedicated to seeing a better Guilford, not only for his family but for ours as well.

Jon’s professional background and experience in finance and economics make him extremely qualified to serve on this board. His long-standing and diverse service in town government further demonstrate his commitment to our town. He has served on the Harbor Management Commission and Marina Commission and currently serves on the Zoning Board of Appeals, taking his knowledge from land to sea—from the mountains of North Guilford to the shores of Sachems Head. He also has demonstrated that he is a true fiscal conservative during his prior service on the Board of Finance. I had the opportunity to work directly with him and experience firsthand his knowledge and understanding of town finances and the desire to exercise higher fiscal restraint. He and I would often discuss options and plans to reduce costs, achieve greater efficiencies, and foster town regulations and policies that improve revenue thereby minimizing property taxes for all residents.

With the state and our town facing a horrific fiscal crisis, his experience and leadership is needed now more than ever. He also brings to the table a willingness to push back and not just accept the status quo. I, for one, appreciate that the most. Jon believes and has demonstrated that through discussion and collaborative leadership, we achieve the best results. Any strong organization consistently questions its mission and pushes to improve. We can and should do the same here in Guilford and expect no less!

I encourage your readers to join me in voting for Jon Trotta this Election Day.
