Diligent, Collaborative, and Respected

For 10 years, I have served on Guilford’s Board of Finance (BOF) with diligent, collaborative, and respected individuals who care deeply about our town and are passionate about the values we expect as residents and taxpayers. I have been honored and grateful to learn and be mentored by three longstanding colleagues who have served on the BOF for more than six decades collectively.

Sitting to my left, Lou Federici looks at the big picture when reviewing town and education budgets. During my early years on the BOF, Lou clarified complex questions for me, as he did for many citizens over his 12 years on the BOF. Lou consistently seeks to balance town needs and interests with both new initiatives and existing resources to minimize expenditures.

Ken Gamerman is meticulous in his monthly review of town finances, especially on the education side. As a former school system supervisor, educational program producer, and business owner, Ken pursues differing perspectives regarding the educational fiscal issues we face. As long-time chair of the Joint BOF/Board of Education Budget Subcommittee, Ken’s 24 years of experience is needed now more than ever.

And what can I say about Matt Hoey that hasn’t been said? Standing by his side in two BOF election cycles, it is clear that no one loves this town, and their role in it, more than Matt. His dedication is second to none because he genuinely cares about every person in Guilford—from our children to our senior citizens, to our business owners.

Guilford is in great fiscal shape because of these three gentlemen. We live, learn, or work here because of the value we see. To maintain that, I encourage voters to elect Lou Federici to the Board of Selectman, re-elect Ken Gamerman to the Board of Finance, and elect Matt Hoey as first selectman.
