It is with great pleasure that I write to endorse the candidacy of Scott Murphy for Board of Selectmen. I have had the privilege of knowing Scott for 12 years, and in that time, I have known him to be a man dedicated and committed to the Madison community.

We first met when our daughters were Daisy Girl Scouts, and he was always an involved and supportive parent. However, his support was not solely for his own children. Rather, his support was town wide. I was fortunate to coach with Scott, and also serve on the Madison Little League (MLL) Board with him. As president of the MLL for many years, Scott demonstrated great communication skills, but more important, he acted as a facilitator. In serving as the face of the league, he was intimately involved with many town officials in a volunteer role, spending countless hours for the benefit of Madison’s youth.

Anyone that has ever served on a board knows all too well how contentious such functions can get. However, under Scott’s stewardship, meetings were productive and smooth. He is a person willing to listen to all points of view before making a decision. I have no doubt that he will continue to employ these skills in a passionate and compassionate manner for the benefit of the town.
