Compassion and Expertise

I write this letter in support of Jeannine Lewis’s candidacy for probate judge in the Saybrook Probate District, which encompasses Chester, Clinton, Deep River, Essex, Haddam, Killingworth, Lyme, Old Saybrook, and Westbrook.

Although the position of probate judge is an elected office, it is not a partisan position. Probate judges act pursuant to laws and statutes, rules, and a code of conduct, not partisan leanings. The probate judge’s responsibility is the control over matters before the court, which they must have significant experience in addressing. Jeannine Lewis has that experience.

Jeannine is a longtime area resident whose practice focuses on the areas addressed by this local court: elder law, estate and probate, conservatorships, and the like. Aside from her experience, Jeannine also educates other attorneys on how to best address these matters as the chair of the Connecticut Bar Association’s Elder Law Section Continuing Legal Education Committee.

As a lawyer specializing in veterans’ benefits as well as the president of an organization whose members exclusively serve aged, disabled, and veteran clients, I am very familiar with the quality of Attorney Lewis’s work and her compassion and expertise in finding good legal solutions for vulnerable clients such as these.

I encourage your readers to put partisanship politics aside and support Jeannine Lewis, an exceptional choice for the next probate judge of the Saybrook Probate District.
