Skills, Knowledge, and Passion

It is with considerable enthusiasm that I am supporting Matt Hoey for first selectman. He has the skills, knowledge, temperament, and passion necessary to be our first selectman. Matt has an established record of being a champion of our quality of life.

As a Guilford resident for 37 years, I have observed how well our town government functions. After the silly season (election campaigning) is over, everyone sits down at the table and works together for the good for the town. Partisanship is put aside and things get accomplished, unlike in Washington, D.C.

Matt’s bipartisan approach has made the tough decisions a little bit easier to absorb by all the governing boards. Furthermore, it facilitates cooperative interaction. Matt understands how necessary that is. Divisiveness doesn’t belong in Guilford.

Matt leads a slate of very capable and qualified candidates, Sandy Ruoff and Lou Federici for Board of Selectmen, Veronica Wallace and Ken Gamerman for Board of Finance, Moira Rader and Mary Best for Board of Education, and Arnold Skretta for Board of Assessment Appeals.

I encourage your readers to vote for Matt Hoey and the rest of the Democratic candidates on Tuesday, Nov. 7 to preserve our quality of life.
