Professionalism and Confidentiality

My name is Dawn Rees Mooney and I am running for re-election as Killingworth town clerk. I have been Killingworth’s town clerk since 2015, previously serving as assistant town clerk for more than seven years. During this time I have worked diligently to maintain, preserve, and provide access to Killingworth’s records; safeguard election processes; and adhere to the highest standards of professionalism and confidentiality.

My experience and qualifications make me ideally suited to serve as town clerk. I earned Connecticut Town Clerk certification in 2010, as well as Master Connecticut Town Clerk certification in 2015. I am a member of the Connecticut Town Clerk Association, the New England Association of City and Town Clerks, and the International Institute of Municipal Clerks, and serve as the secretary of the Connecticut Town Clerk Association’s Executive Board. I also hold a bachelor’s degree from Connecticut College. Additionally, I am Killingworth’s deputy town treasurer, the recording secretary of Killingworth’s Parks & Recreation Commission, an associate member of the Killingworth Historical Society and a member of the Killingworth Women’s Organization.

As a Killingworth resident and taxpayer for 25 years, I raised my three children in our wonderful town and understand the importance of fiscal responsibility, meticulous record keeping, and outstanding service while preserving our small-town atmosphere. I will always greet visitors with a smile and provide friendly, attentive, and timely service to all who enter. I encourage Killingworth’s residents to visit the Town Clerk’s Office to say hello.

I encourage your readers to cast their vote for me on Nov. 7 to continue the tradition of accuracy and efficiency in the Town Clerk’s Office. I am honored to hold the position of Killingworth town clerk and look forward to serving for another term.
