Honest, Hardworking, and Committed

We’d like to endorse Fred Dudek for first selectman of Killingworth. We’ve had the pleasure of knowing Fred for more than 45 years. He’s honest, hardworking, and deeply committed to the values that make Killingworth such a unique and special place to live.

Fred brings an extensive knowledge of our town and experience to the position of first selectman. In addition to serving on the Board of Selectman for 13 years, he has served on the Board of Finance for eight years, and Board of Tax Review for four years.

Volunteerism has always been a hallmark of Fred’s life. He has served as a volunteer fire fighter for 44 years, and fire chief for 17 years. Fred received the Citizen of the Year Award in 1991. He was inducted into the Connecticut Firefighters Hall of Fame in 2016. He has served as a volunteer for Parmelee Farm as well.

Fred and his wife Linda both grew up in Killingworth and attended school here. They raised and educated their two children in Killingworth. Fred cares deeply about the quality of an excellent school system. He’ll work hard to maintain and strengthen education for our youth. Fred is dedicated and committed to preserving the qualities that have attracted families to Killingworth.

Fred is a problem solver, collaborator, and leader. He’s fiscally responsible and has the foresight to lead our town through these challenging economic times. Connecticut and Killingworth face unprecedented fiscal challenges. We need someone who’ll be responsive to taxpayers young and old, someone who’ll work to keep spending under control and protect families from higher taxes. We need a leader who’ll be proactive, listen, and make smart decisions for our town. We believe Fred Dudek is that person.

We encourage your readers to vote for Fred Dudek on Nov. 7.
