Health, Welfare, and Safety

The Old Saybrook Zoning Commission regulates land use and protects the public health, welfare, and safety through those regulations. In my opinion, it is important to elect candidates with strong experience in this area and Old Saybrook voters are lucky to have two such candidates in Robert Friedmann and Gerri Lewis.

Robert, a retired chemist, has been a member of the Zoning Commission for more than 25 years and is its current chairman where he has worked hard and fair to keep Old Saybrook a unique and quaint small town. Gerri Lewis has served as a full member of the Zoning Commission since 2009 and as an alternate from 2001 to 2009. In addition, she has served in leadership roles with many important service groups in town such as Rotary Club president, Estuary Council of Seniors Board president, Old Saybrook Education Foundation Board member, and many other distinguished positions.

Both Robert and Gerri share a passion for Old Saybrook and want to ensure future generations are able to have the same opportunities we all have to enjoy its beautiful landscape. Let’s go with the candidates with more than 40 years combined experience and re-elect Robert Friedmann and Gerri Lewis to the Old Saybrook Zoning Commission on Tuesday, Nov. 7.
