Duty to Community

I’ve known Mike Smith for almost 20 years now. He immediately became an active member of our family, and I could tell right away that he was honest, hard-working, and always ready and willing to pitch in.

Before Mike was a resident of Clinton, he worked for the Westerly Sun in Westerly, Rhode Island, where he was circulation director. Mike didn’t hesitate to become active in his community and quickly joined the Rotary Club, where he was named treasurer.

After moving to Clinton, Mike was eager to join the Lion’s Club. You’ll find him at all of the regular events during the year, including Christmas in Clinton and with a spatula in hand at the annual pancake breakfast to benefit Families Helping Families. Mike has also always been very active in his children’s activities, including Little League and Boy Scouts.

Currently, Mike is the director of consumer sales and retention at the New Haven Register, where he is responsible for revenue and expenses for the Circulation Department. His daily tasks include creating and executing budgets.

I cannot think of a better candidate for the Clinton Board of Finance than Mike Smith. His past and present experience, combined with his sense of duty to his community, make him the perfect person for this job. I am confident that he will make the town and his family proud.
