Confident and Compassionate

First selectman candidate Ken MacKenzie was working our PTO A.W. Cox Elementary Harvest Festival this past Sunday. When I saw him, I was surprised how open and willing he was to talk about his vision for the Town of Guilford and how he wants to fundamentally change the way decisions are made on issues affecting all of us.

It was clear to me Ken is in this because he wants the decision process to be transparent to the people. He explained how short-term decisions can adversely affect us in the long-term. His common sense approach will be the greatest benefit to all the taxpayers.

He was honest in saying he knows he questions what comes to the table a lot. He never veered from his inner values. He was confident and compassionate as he spoke.

What I found most refreshing is that Ken is not a politician but rather a native citizen with a unique skill set to deal with financial challenges our community faces.
