An Honor to Serve

First Selectman Bruce Farmer is a leader in every respect, whether it is about saving a church, creating a non-profit, supporting those in need, preparing for a potential catastrophic event as a risk manager, being in charge of a very large portfolio of business as an insurance officer prior to retiring, or leading Clinton as first selectman. I know because Bruce is my husband.

He has been fighting for months against the Governor Dannel Malloy’s financialy devastating cuts to our educational system and has gone to the capitol to testify on Clinton’s behalf. He has sacrificed a lot to do this work and so has our family, but public service is very important to us. Bruce works more than 60 hours a week plus evenings, serves on five boards, and is on call 24/7 for all sorts of dire emergencies. He declined all raises and takes no benefits. He is not a politician, does not take credit for any of his countless accomplishments, and says “we as a team” did these things.

This is our hometown for 34 years and he believes it is an honor to serve the community. Make no mistake, he will always fight for residents and do it with a smile. I encourage your readers to support Bruce on Nov. 7 by going to box 2e on the ballot. Fill in the oval completely and write-in “Bruce Farmer” in the same box.
