A Successful Formula


My name is Mark Grabowski, a candidate for the Region 4 Board of Education in this upcoming November election.

My wife Julia and I moved to Deep River in 2003, and we have five children—Chloe, 17, Gavin, 15, Finn, 13, Hank, 11, and Rex, 10. Chloe and Gavin attend Valley Regional High School, Finn attends John Winthrop Middle School, while Hank and Rex attend Deep River Elementary School. Throughout our children’s educational careers, we feel our area schools have created an academic environment that has proven to be a successful formula for our children. Everyone has taken a personal interest in our kids, and we’ve witnessed the same social and academic support for so many more.

I have worked with Hewlett-Packard Enterprise in New York City since 2009 selling technology services to global financial services corporations. I studied finance at Wester New England College, and while employed at IBM I attended Harvard Business School, completing complex business case studies.

I’ve been president of Little League, as well as coaching baseball since 2004. I also spent three years with Tri-Town (Valley) Youth Football as both president and vice president. I’ve worked with such valuable members of our communities in all walks of life—it’s been such a tremendous, awe-inspiring gift and privilege to have worked alongside so many great people.

With such a diverse work, social, and volunteer background, I have gained a deep passion for education, promoting self-worth, sportsmanship, and teaming. Managing youth leagues has provided me a keen sense of the uniqueness of each child. My spirit of community, passion for creating child enrichment programs, and acute business acumen give me the skills to be an outstanding contributor to the Region 4 Board of Education.
