A New Perspective

My name is Tim Gannon and I’ve lived in Killingworth for 39 years. I’ve seen our town’s leadership reshuffled many times, and it’s healthy that we have periodic changes. Once again I believe it’s time for a change at the top. I believe that Fred Dudek is the person to be our new first selectman.

I think Fred will bring a new perspective on how to run Town Hall by using his common-sense approach to study problems, finding good solutions, and getting tasks completed in a timely manner.

Fred is a problem solver who’s looking to improve life in Killingworth by creating shared resources such as garbage collection, tree cutting, and road sweeping with area towns. He will evaluate regional purchases and create a priority based budgeting system, use dollars already allocated to repair the modular at the Town Hall, and turn the town barn into usable space. Fred will fight for Killingworth’s fair share of state dollars.

Fred certainly has the qualifications for the job. He has lived in Killingworth for 54 years, and with his wife of 44 years, Linda, raised their family here. I strongly believe in getting involved in town by volunteering in different ways, and Fred shares this belief with me. He has been a volunteer firefighter in town for 44 years and its captain for 17 years. He has held elected offices as a member of the Board of Finance for eight years, Board of Tax Review for four years, and is currently a selectman for 13 years. He worked as a engineer for Northeast Utilities & CL&P for 32 years, is also a Navy veteran and a volunteer at Parmelee Farm

I encourage your readers to join me in voting for Fred Dudek for first selectman.
