A Framework of Giving

Alison Keating’s personal and professional life has been guided by a framework of giving. When we first met on the Little League field four years ago, Alison gave her time to the kids as a team parent. It was apparent that she prescribed to the “it takes a village” philosophy of caring for our kids in Madison collectively.

Since our time on the ballfields, Alison has given more of herself to the town as an exemplary vice chair of the Board of Education (BOE). She has given her leadership, intelligence, and pragmatic problem-solving to the BOE Executive Board. All the while, her priorities have been focused on giving our children the excellence in leadership they deserve. She has been a team player from the beginning and understands the process of BOE policy development and implementation for our town. She worked on the past four budgets that were passed by the BOE.

She thoughtfully considers perspectives of colleagues from the other side of the aisle to come up with what works for our community. Time and again, Alison demonstrates what thoughtful policy-making and civility can look like with bipartisan cooperation. She gives her talents to the BOE to sustain the excellence in education many of us have grown to expect from Madison. I wholeheartedly endorse Alison Keating for her second term on the Madison BOE without reservation.
