The Last Country Road

Nut Plains Road is the last country road south of Route 80. The proposed six-foot-wide concrete pathway will require additional streetlights and curbing. Trees and stonewalls will be gone forever to make way for one man’s vision, that of the town engineer, James Portley. Do the historic homes along the way deserve this kind of treatment? The answer should be a resounding “No.”

Wake up Guilford: $1.6 million will be spent on this vision. Is this the way we want our federal and town tax dollars spent?
