Skills and Knowledge

During the recent political activity to put forth a slate of candidates for election, the endorsed Republican candidate for first selectman was challenged by Ken McKenzie. In the primary election that followed Ken went on to win the primary and is now our candidate for first selectman.

Ken McKenzie grew up in Guilford and has had a career as a financial analyst. He is currently serving on the Board of Finance. He will join the team of Charles Havrda and Sue Renner, who are also running for the Board of Selectmen.

Charles Havrda has served the town on several boards and commissions for the past 25 years including the last eight on the Board of Selectmen during the Mazza administration. If elected, he will help bring some continuity to town government.

Sue Renner was born and raised in Guilford, is a CPA, and is the treasurer for American Cruise Lines, which is headquartered in Guilford. She has served two terms on the Board of Education and will bring her knowledge and experience to the Board of Selectmen.

I encourage everyone to vote for this team of highly qualified candidates who will bring their skills and knowledge to keep the financial management of Guilford under control, while continuing the level of services we have come to expect.

Charles E. Bishop
