Professional, Respectful, and Courteous

I have been a voter in this lovely town for more than 60 years. I have known Roberta Gill-Brooks, known as “Bobi,” since she was an infant. There is no question in my mind regarding my vote for her as tax collector. When I learned that she would officially be on the ticket, I was overjoyed, yet not surprised, at all. The tax collector needs to be able to work directly with Branford residents in a professional, respectful, and courteous manner. Bobi more than fits the bill.

Roberta is the true embodiment of a people-person. Known for putting her heart and soul into any task or project given, she is dedicated. I’ve witnessed this in her, firsthand, from her teen-aged years in St. Stephen’s AME Zion Church, through to adulthood with her energetic and infectious work with Branford’s annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Breakfast Committee. She is a hard worker, and is always willing to go that extra mile to ensure that the needs of those around her are met.

Roberta ended a 31-year career at AT&T last fall, and was known as an outstanding and highly sought-after systems and customer service/advocacy trainer who had earned the trust of many high-profile, multi-million-dollar corporations as their dedicated customer advocate.

Roberta possesses a unique ability to make everyone around her feel just a little bit better just by being in her presence. She is a true reflection of her parents, retired former Branford police chief Robert Gill and his wife Dorothy Gill. The Town of Branford and all of Town Hall will be extremely fortunate to have Roberta Gill-Brooks serving as tax collector. There is no question about my vote!
