Leadership and Integrity

After five decades of residence in Killingworth, I continue to be impressed with the high level of civic participation our town enjoys. The present administration, to its credit, has encouraged this tradition of public service. Over the years, Killingworth has greatly benefited from the dedication of a group of civic leaders whose hard work has made this town such a desirable place to live. Those who have lived in Killingworth for as long as I have realize that some families have public service in their DNA, being passed down from one generation to the next. The Democratic candidate for selectman is a member of such a family.

Lou Annino, Jr., a fourth-generation Killingworth resident, has an outstanding history as a public servant. I was fortunate to have Lou as a member of the Planning & Zoning Commission during my tenure as chairman. Lou was the youngest member of the commission, but soon gained the respect of the veteran members with his understanding, application, and interpretation of the intent of the regulations. His analytical and problem-solving skills were often on display during deliberations. The historical perspective that Lou brought to the commission helped shape the regulations that have allowed controlled growth, while maintaining the rural character of Killingworth we presently enjoy. This same skill set has served him well during his tenure as selectman.

Having witnessed his leadership and integrity firsthand, I am confident that the thoughtful residents of Killingworth will vote for the most qualified candidate for selectman, Lou Annino, Jr.
