Growth and Strength

The town of Killingworth is a community built on its townspeople volunteering. Its growth and strength come from these values. Fred Dudek is running for first selectman this November with those Killingworth values as his platform. He has been a resident of this town since 1963. Fred and his wife Linda raised their two children in our quaint town, where they cultivated their education throughout the H-K school system. Their experience of living in our small town provided a foundation for their learning where they could excel in college and their current careers.

While raising his family, Fred devoted much of his life to serving the community as a member of the Killingworth Volunteer Fire Company and 17 years as the fire chief. He has served in several elected offices for the town including Board of Tax Review for four years, Board of Finance for eight years, and Board of Selectmen from 2004 to the present. During his tenure as a selectman, he has been instrumental in keeping our taxes steady and the mill rate low as well as managing a sound infrastructure from year to year.

Along with his volunteer efforts, he has been a loyal friend and neighbor to many. He’d think nothing of helping a friend to install a new roof, spreading driveway stones for another, or snow plowing for a friend or neighbor. When you drive by Parmelee Farm, there’s a good chance that you’ll see Fred mowing one of the fields.

I’ve had the gift of Fred and his family’s friendship for many years. I can’t think of anyone more qualified to lead our community with his strength of values and loyalty for our community. I encourage your readers to join me on Nov. 7 to cast their vote for Fred Dudek for first selectman.
