Experience and Integrity

I have a lot of pride in our town and I often think how blessed I am to live here, in this wonderful place with some really good people. For my part, I like to give back and one way I have done this is through my public service. I am grateful for the trust that voters have continuously placed in me for more than 20 years on various commissions and most recently the Police Commission.

Growing up here, I can tell you that the Clinton officers were admired for their dedications to our community. I am so proud of the rich history of the Clinton Police Department and much of my decisions are rooted in building on that solid foundation while moving the department forward. In my eight years on this board, I have worked with five administrations so I am able to bring continuity and a unique perspective. Our department has had many accomplishments during my tenure and an occasional misstep. These are all opportunities to grow and improve. I also rely on those experiences and my business background when considering policy changes and analyzing budgets, expenditures, and long term goals.

I believe wholeheartedly that our board is answerable to the community for the decisions we make. As a commissioner I will continue to build on the department’s successes and strengths with an eye on balancing public safety with prudent fiscal management, especially in this difficult economy. I will let my experience and integrity guide me in my decisions and I will continue to give my very best in all that I do as a member of the Board of Police Commissioners.

It has been my honor to represent your readers, and I ask for their continued support on Nov. 7.
