Dynamic Financial Leadership

The lack of a state budget has caused disruption to the Town of Killingworth’s ability to accurately predict the town’s revenue for the current budget year. After a state budget is finally enacted, it is likely that Killingworth’s revenue from the state will dramatically decrease as compared to recent years. This result is likely to continue beyond this year and present recurring challenges to our town. Meeting these challenges will require our full engagement.

I was delighted to learn that Annie Stirna has decided to run for a seat on the Killingworth Board of Finance. Annie has been active in area organizations including service on the Board of Directors of the Estuary Council of Seniors and as the president and treasurer of the Haddam-Killingworth Rotary. Annie’s professional experience in providing accounting, bookkeeping, budget analysis, and business analysis to small- to mid-sized businesses and individuals positions her well to hit the ground running on our Board of Finance.

This anticipated new era of state budget austerity will require dynamic financial leadership for the Town of Killingworth. I am pleased to recommend Annie Stirna to my fellow residents as the right person to help us meet these challenges as a member of the Killingworth Board of Finance.
