Demonstrated Commitment to the Community

We write this letter in support of Carol Conklin’s candidacy for the Old Saybrook Board of Selectmen. Carol and her husband Tim have resided in Old Saybrook for more than 30 years. Prior to that time she spent summers here with her family for 20 years. Both she and her husband have been active in the community serving in both elected and appointed capacity on several boards and commissions. Carol has been a small business owner, as well as working as a finance and accounting professional with Stanley Black & Decker Corporation and Hartford Insurance Group in her earlier career. She is currently completing her first term on the Board of Selectmen. Carol has served on the Economic Development Commission for many years and is its current chairman. She is also past president of the Old Saybrook Chamber of Commerce and Main Street Business Association.

Carol has a B.S. in business administration from Bryant College and a specialty degree in statutory accounting from UConn. In addition to her excellent communication skills, accessibility, and accountability, we believe that her diverse background, experience, and her demonstrated commitment to work, family, and the community make her a refreshing and valuable member of the board. We encourage your readers to join us in giving Carol their continued support on Nov. 7.
