Calm and Attentive

I am writing this letter in support of Carl Fortuna for first selectman. I have known Carl for years and see the passion he brings to making Old Saybrook a better place. He has guided and continues to guide the town through ridiculous state budgets and deficits, and has dealt calmly and attentively to making sure Old Saybrook does not feel the financial shock of Governor Dannel Malloy’s ineptitude.

The state has reduced Old Saybrook’s school funding to zero and other assistance to levels never seen, yet Old Saybrook’s finances have never been stronger, and this has been affirmed by our town’s financial auditor. These results don’t happen by mistake. They happen with hard work and making sure the right team is in place to deal with our state’s crisis.

On Nov. 7, I am voting for Carl Fortuna, Selectman Scott Giegerich, and Treasurer Bob Fish because of their proven record. I encourage your readers to join me in doing so.
