The Courage to Get Answers

Democrat Stephen Sheehan is the better of the two candidates running for first selectman in Old Saybrook. He is a proven leader with the courage to get answers to difficult questions and make informed decisions as a result. As a resident since 1988, Steve has used his time, talents, and personal resources for the betterment of our residents and to help local businesses succeed and thrive. When elected, Sheehan will then have the authority to continue his record of leadership for we taxpayers and local business.

Sheehan and voters want answers. Steve doesn’t think residents are pleased that, over the last six years, the mill rate has increased by more than 30 percent. The good residents of Old Saybrook deserve transparency in government. When will taxpayers have a chance to attend the long-promised open house for the $10,000,000 building for the police? Why is there so much turnover in uniformed personnel in the Department of Police Services after the town pays for their training? What, if anything, is the Water Pollution Control Authority (WPCA) doing to upgrade septic systems in low-lying areas? Why are there non-compliant systems in areas declared as “complete” by the WPCA and the current first selectman, Carl Fortuna? Are taxpayers going to be asked to approve more than the $42,000,000 already approved for the WPCA?

A vote for Stephan Sheehan on Nov. 7 is a vote for strong leadership. Please join other Democratic, Republican, and unaffiliated voters to make it happen.
