Smart, Diligent, and Informed

I am writing to support the candidacy of Dr. Violet McNerney for a position on the Madison Board of Education. Dr. McNerney can claim an abundance of professional qualifications for this role; she has spent most of her adult life working in public education. As a school psychologist, she has worked tirelessly to assist students as they work through challenges and achieve successes. Dr. McNerney has extensive experience working within a team dynamic to maintain a budget and achieve the best possible outcomes for students and their families.

I have known Dr. McNerney for more than 20 years, which allows me to speak to the many characteristics that would make her an effective school board member. Dr. McNerney is smart, diligent, and informed. She only accepts a task if she can fully devote the time and attention needed to see it to completion. While deeply compassionate, Dr. McNerney has the perspective and foresight to differentiate between wants and needs while assessing a situation.

Due to her professional résumé and personal characteristics, I can confidently and completely endorse her candidacy. I can think of no individual more committed to ensuring the best possible education for all students, and this determination and drive should prompt all Madison voters to add their enthusiastic support to mine.
