Providing Strong Leadership

On Sept. 28, the Chester Board of Finance voted down the $7.4 million library project. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Library Building Committee for all its hard work, dedication, and passion for this project. I want to thank the Board of Finance for its very considerate deliberation and compassion in its decision-making process.

Now it is up to the Board of Selectman to set the course for how the Library Committee moves forward. Given the fiscal state of our state, it is vitally important that all projects—current and future—move forward, by providing strong leadership, scope, and fiscal parameters. I encourage everyone to make sure they vote in the best leadership team on Nov. 7.
