Leadership, Involvement, and Compassion

We are writing to support the candidacy of Jean Ferris for a seat on the Board of Selectmen this November. We have known Jean for close to 20 years professionally, working together as volunteers in the community and as a friend. In each of these roles, Jean has displayed leadership, integrity and compassion.

Her leadership skills were demonstrated as president of the Madison Rotary Club, leading the transition of the organization’s major fundraiser for 20 years to meet declining financial support to a new venue, while also working to balance the financial commitment to both local and international projects. During her term, she initiated a weekly challenge to provide food for Madison Community Services. Following her term as president, Jean volunteered for a three-year term as the Rotary district grants steward, a position that is not visible in the local community, but serves as a key role in the approval and compliance to terms for all grants for both local, regional, and international Rotary projects for 60 Connecticut Rotary clubs.

Jean and her husband Mark are always there to support any and all Madison Rotary events and projects. Jean is also passionate about animal rescue, and is an active volunteer and fundraiser for Connecticut Greyhound Adoption. Given her leadership, community involvement, and compassion, we encourage your readers to vote for Jean on Nov. 7.
