Keep Debt Under Control

My name is Tony Cozza and I’m running to retain my seat on the Westbrook Board of Finance. I’m asking for your readers’ votes this November. As a member of the Board of Finance, I will continue to strive to keep taxes low while not sacrificing services, make sure our children receive a quality education, and also, very importantly, keep our debt under control.

A little about myself: I have a bachelor’s degree in engineering and a master’s in business administration. My career was spent in technical, management and environmental positions having to do with design, construction, purchasing and operation of power plant equipment. I have experience managing multi-million-dollar projects and organizations.

I fell in love with Westbrook 39 years ago when we purchased a home here. My wife, Pat, and I realized our dream when we were able to move here full time 11 years ago. Although I spent some time volunteering during my working years, I have been able to increase my volunteer activities during retirement. Other than serving on the Board of Finance, I have served on the Retirement Board, Ad Hoc Shellfish Commission, Water Pollution Control Commission, and Ad Hoc Parks & Recreation Commission. While living in Rocky Hill (1987 to 2006) I spent time coaching youth soccer and baseball. I was on the Baseball Board of Directors, vice chair of the Rocky Hill Athletic Hall of Fame Committee, and a member of the Board of Education Technical Committee.

I am also currently vice president of the Island View Beach Association and an active member of the Westbrook Council of Beaches, serving as chair of its Alleviating Hunger Committee.

I believe, and I hope your readers agree with me, that my background best enables me to continue to assist Westbrook in these trying financial times.
