Follow the Ordinance

I am dismayed by the large signs at the Killingworth circle (Routes 80 and 81 junction) that supports a certain political candidate in town. The large signs have the slogan “Killingworth Values” emblazoned at the bottom. Killingworth’s code states that one temporary sign, no more than six square feet, is allowed per commercial lot. There are two signs, each larger than the permitted square footage.

Apparently, the candidate, Fred Dudek, or his supporters feel that Killingworth values don’t include following town laws. The insinuation of his slogan is that a vote against Mr. Dudek is a vote against Killingworth values. I, for one, think that if a town posts an ordinance, then we, as good citizens, ought to follow them. If Mr. Dudek’s values exclude his attention to laws, then I suggest he rethink his values.
