Dedication and Commitment

I’d like share my enthusiastic support for Jessica Bowler for the Madison Board of Education (BOE). I’ve known Jessica since 2011 and have seen her dedication and commitment to a variety of tasks. Jessica has organized countless teams while working full time and taking care of her children. In November 2013, Jessica was elected to the BOE. She has served our schools for the past four years as a member of the Personnel and Planning Committees while being chairperson of the Personnel Committee for the past two years. Jessica has been secretary of the Executive Committee for the past two years while having a role on the Finance Committee.

Jessica’s commitment to the Madison Public Schools goes beyond the interests of her own children. She cares deeply about the quality of education for all students and this is evident in her work on developing the school calendar, reworking the hot lunch program, working with administrators and other board members in a non-partisan manner on curriculum renewal and maintaining the excellence of the schools.

Recently, BOE members were faced with difficult decisions in which it was truly impossible to make everyone happy. Jessica and the other members of the board considered all information and made a tough decision that was mindful of the best interests of our students and town. Jessica has been available to discuss BOE matters with anyone that has questions or concerns. I have personally seen her explaining new initiatives and proposed policies to concerned parents at a variety of venues and events. Jessica is accessible, passionate about our schools and town and has a deep understanding of the issues that our schools are currently facing and will face in the future. I encourage your readers to support Jessica Bowler for the BOE on Nov. 7.
