The Most for our Money

This is a different kind of campaign endorsement letter. I am not usually the kind of person who would write one.

I had a cup of coffee with Matt Hoey last week. He asked me what I cared about as a citizen of Guilford, and I told him. He listened carefully, and had very interesting ideas about how to take action. He did not brag or offer campaign talking points.

This was a striking experience for me. I’m a businessman who is pragmatic about getting things done. Many of us who live in town want someone as first selectman who gets the most for our money to keep this a great town to live in. My point is, that’s Matt. Guilford is financially strong because Matt’s been leading the effort to keep it that way for years, of course working with many others with all sorts of views.

Don’t assume we need a Republican to be pragmatic and fiscally responsible. We need someone who has proven they can do it, and who listens. The smart money is on Matt.
