Serious, Ethical Government

I wish to voice my support for change to serious, ethical government in East Haven. Sal Maltese will make that change happen. Sal is a successful, honest, intelligent businessman in East Haven. He has run a laundromat at the start of Coe Avenue for many years as well as running a private accounting practice. He’s married for more than 40 years to his lovely wife, Joan. They have 4 wonderful daughters and 11 grandchildren. He is fully committed to our town. He is also committed to bettering the education in our schools.

For better education, I have joined his ticket, which will be on Row A on Nov. 7. I am running for the Board of Education. Both Sal and I agree that there are several tasks our school system needs to address. Scores must go up. Children must read at grade level or better. They must perform in STEM subjects on a par with their peers in neighboring towns. AP and SAT scores must improve. Also, attendance must no longer be a problem. Graduation rates should approach 100 percent and four-year college enrollment numbers must go up. The Board of Education must work collaboratively with administration and the town, and we must hire a superintendent who works well with everyone. Finally, the excellent teaching in some schools must extend to all schools.

Together, Sal and I will make this happen.
