Our Community Responds

When Families Helping Families (FHF) decided to have an end of summer event, we knew we couldn’t possibly make this happen by ourselves. We needed help and a lot of it. We also needed a location and we thought the perfect location would be the harbor/dock area, so we approached the owners of Rocky’s Aqua Restaurant and The Cedar Island Marina and asked if they would even consider hosting this “bash” in their parking lot area. Their response was a resounding “Yes,” so they became not only our hosts but major sponsors.

With us still needing other financial support, Madison Furniture Barn, Pinder Construction, Clinton Insurance Center, The N&B Band, and the Christopher Damon family joined them in become major supporters of this event—but it didn’t end there. Many local businesses enthusiastically offered to donated many wonderful silent auction items. They were Shore TV and Appliances, Christo Jewelers, Jay Lussier & Sons, Tuxis Lumber, Grove Garden Landscaping, Sally O’Brien, Clinton Sailing Club, Law Offices of Gregory J. Gallo, Melissa Imossi-Artist, Alberino’s Barber Shop, Paint the Edge, LLC, Rich & Ray’s Service & Repair, Body Karma Studio, Blue Moon Artisans, Beyond Cleaning, LLC, Clinton Country Club, Beth Taddoniio HCH, and Niko’s Ice Cream.

We wanted to raise funds for our local veteran’s Post 1199 relief fund and FHF’s Families to Families Program. In each case, these programs seek to address crisis situations that local families might be going through. In the past 11 years, we’ve come to realize that our community responds whenever asked to help. Yes, we are a community of families, but we are all committed to help and serve each other with passion and compassion.

That’s the Clinton that I know and have been a witness to for many years.
