Low-Interest Loans and Grants Available

I’d like to remind Killingworth businesses of low-interest loans and grants available to them. The Middlesex County Revitalization Commission (MCRC) has funds allocated to it through Connecticut’s Small Business Express Program to spur job creation and growth in the county. Loans may be used for buildings, building improvements, equipment, and working capital. If a certain number of new jobs will be created, loans may be forgiven.

To be eligible for funding under the MCRC’s loan program, a business must have facilities and employees in Middlesex County, must have been registered to conduct business in Connecticut for more than one year, and must be current on all state and local taxes.

Created by a special act of the Connecticut General Assembly in 1993, the Middlesex County Revitalization Commission consists of the chief elected official, or designee, in each of the 15 towns in Middlesex County, plus a representative from the Middlesex County Chamber of Commerce. As Killingworth first selectman, I sit on the commission.

We have recently streamlined the loan application process, and you can find the application on the Killingworth town website at townofkillingworth.com/offices/selectmen.

For further information, please feel free to call me at 860-663-1765, x501, or Jeff Pugliese, MCRC administrator, at 860-347-6924.
