Two New Candidates

In Old Saybrook, unaffiliated voters can determine the outcome of the municipal election in November. Before simply voting for an incumbent, I encourage your readers to consider two new candidates on the Democratic slate.

Stephan Sheehan, candidate for first selectman, is a long-time resident with years of service on the Zoning Commission, Town Review (now Board of Assessment Appeals), and Pension Board, where he served for 20 years. Sheehan uses his professional background to volunteer as legal counsel and Board of Director member for the Terry Brodeur Breast Cancer Foundation, which has raised almost $4 million. Think what Steve could do for the town!

Carl Garbe is candidate for town clerk. His background includes many years of researching records in his career as an independent appraiser. Garbe will be a full-time clerk who wants to provide extended hours at Town Hall for people who need his services after 4 p.m.

When casting a vote, either in person or by absentee ballot, I encourage your readers to vote for Stephan Sheehan for first selectman and Carl Garbe for town clerk.
